CASAR is an abbreviation for the French term 'Câblerie Sarroise'. CASAR Drahtseilwerk Saar was founded in 1948 by Consul Joseph Verreet. Since its inception, the company has manufactured and developed innovative products. Among other things was the company the first to produce 8-stranded rope in 1949, when 6-stranded rope was the standard. The company has since continued to develop innovative products - especially within steel wire rope and accessories . At the same time, they have continuously developed innovative production technologies to constantly improve the products. Today, the production of steel wire rope is ultra modern and it is now possible to monitor the quality of the steel wire rope in real time while production is underway. In 2007 CASAR became part of the global company WireCo WorldGroup - one of the world's leading companies when it comes to the production of steel wire rope and fiber rope.
