Testing of Lifting Gear and Lifting Equipment

Fyns Kran Udstyr A/S has since 1969 been involved in the sale, manufacture, inspection and statutory overhaul of Lifting Gear and Lifting Equipment . Today, we are the market-leading provider of these services. We currently have over 30 well-equipped test and service vehicles, which operate throughout Denmark from our departments around the country.

Lifting Gear is used for a safe and indispensable secure connection between the load being lifted and the lifting device (often a crane hook) from which the load is being lifted. Lifting Gear is, for example: Chain Slings, Round Sling, Webbing Sling, Chain Hoists, Lifting Beams etc. Lifting Gear should have an inspection at least once a month at user level and a main inspection every 12 months carried out by the supplier or another expert. It is normal practice for the main inspection to be carried out by the supplier or another service company with similar expert knowledge of the Lifting Gear.

The requirement for the main inspection every 12 months follows from the Norwegian Working Environment Authority's Executive Order 428 as well as At-notice 2.02.10 on attachment tools.

Documentation for inspection and control of Lifting Gear and Lifting Equipment

Inspections must be documented in a report or certificate at any time. This must show any errors and defects found during the statutory inspection of the Lifting Gear and subsequent repair. The report or certificate must be able to be presented by the user. If the Lifting Gear is used at changing workplaces, the report or certificate must be included and can be presented. It is not a legal requirement that stickers or metal signs are attached, but it can be good information for the user and our labeling can be a tool in everyday life. Our labeling is unique and all Lifting Gear and Lifting Equipment are marked with our unique tag. It is printed directly from our service system EasyCert and contains the date of the last inspection, the date of the next inspection, our unique ID and, if you wish, can also contain your unique ID number or whatever you wish. The label also contains a QR code that provides easy access to all history on the equipment in question.

There are products where our label is not attached. These products will be supplied with strips with the unique identification number.

Which brands do we inspect?

Our inspection procedure is universal and therefore covers all brands. At the same time, they are 100% transparent as you can see exactly which steps we go through on each piece of Lifting Gear or Lifting Equipment, as our service technicians simply and efficiently create separate certificates for all pieces of equipment via our EasyCert system.

Do you only inspect Lifting Gear / Lifting Equipment?

The short answer is no, we can also help your company with both crane service , inspection of Vacuum Lifters, Fall Protection, Pallet Racks, Ladders and Power Tools in accordance with current legislation. As with the inspection of Lifting Gear and Lifting Equipment, we also issue separate certificates, regardless of whether we are inspecting a crane or a fall protection harness. This way you can see exactly which steps we have gone through on each piece of equipment. At the same time, EasyCert provides a unique overview, as it is all gathered in the system, where relevant documentation can be easily searched.

Tensile testing

We can carry out test loads directly in our test vehicles. This means that all types of plate claws are inspected according to our fixed procedure (they can see all steps on the individual certificates in EasyCert) and tested with WLL + 25% on the tensile testing equipment installed in the test cars. Other equipment, e.g. Chain Hoist and Lever Hoists are functionally tested and load tested in the test vehicles. If there is a need for repair, it can be offered at our central repair workshop in Odense.
