What is an electric chain hoist?

An electric chain hoist is a lifting device that is used for both assembly jobs and repeated lifting jobs. Small electric chain hoists are often used for assembly jobs, while the larger electric hoists are particularly used for repetitive tasks with higher lifting heights.

Which electric chain hoist should you choose?

It depends on the job you are facing - we will be happy to help you find the right hoist for your needs and wishes. No job is too small or too big. In our product range, we have electric hoists for small lifting tasks from 125 kg and for very large lifting capacities up to 120 tonnes.

Your choice of electric chain hoists also depends on what the lifting height is for the load to be lifted. It can be both in a large production environment, where the ceiling is very high, and where there must be a large lifting height for the electric hoist. But it can also be in a small, low-ceilinged room, where it can be difficult to make the installation with the electric hoist, and where an electric hoist with a lower lifting height is therefore required. At Fyns Kran Udstyr, we have both electric hoists with a high lifting height and we have electric hoists with a low lifting height - so no matter what task you are faced with having to solve with an electric chain hoist, we can find a solution for you.

What features does an electric hoist have?

The hoists have different features depending on which type of hoist you choose. Some electric hoists have different speeds, which can be practical for some tasks where the task requires that the speed of your electric chain hoists can be regulated.
Other electric chain hoists have an integrated trolley, which can be both manual and electric. And some electric chain hoists can be supplied with radio control – this means that you can operate your electric chain hoist using a remote control. It can be quite practical for larger lifting tasks where large elements must be lifted. At the same time, electric hoists with radio control also help to increase safety, as the electric chain hoist can be operated from a distance from the lifting task.

How do you maintain an electric chain hoist?

It is important to inspect your electric chain hoist and your lifting equipment regularly, and it must be inspected by a professional expert at least every 12 months if located in Denmark in accordance with the regulations from the Danish Working Environment Authority. In addition, your electric chain hoist and your lifting equipment should have an inspection at least once a month at a user level. However, there is an exception; if your electric chain hoist or your lifting equipment has been overloaded or is otherwise damaged, you must first have a professional inspection carried out by an expert before the electric chain hoist or lifting equipment can be used again. We have 30 service units that can help throughout Denmark.
