
The 23-year-old blacksmith Arnold Vetter founded 'Eisenkonstruktions-Werkstätte Arnold Vetter' in 1889. The company's first success was not cranes but dump trucks for the mining and steel industries. In 1933, the eldest son Albert took over the company and they gradually began to focus on equipment for lifting in the mining industry. In 1962, the third generation in the family takes over: Klaus Th. Vetter. In these years the mining industry is having a hard time and the company had to focus on other products. In 1964, Vetter produces its first Jib Crane. Cranes became the key to long-term success for the German family-owned company and today the 5th generation is gradually taking over the company.
