Steel wire from WDI – WDI Ropes is part of the German group Westfälische Drahtindustrie GmbH, whose history dates back to the founding of the first factory in 1856. Since 1890, the company has been known by its current name: WDI. The group produces wires for many applications, e.g. wire for welding works, building constructions, etc. We negotiate the most interesting part of the program for us – namely their program of steel wire for e.g. industry, construction cranes, maritime cranes and oil and gas. These wires are known under the brand PYTHON and you will definitely find them among our selection on this page. If we draw parallels to e.g. in the automotive industry, you can compare PYTHON steel wire with brands such as Audi, BMW and Mercedes.

Maintenance of Steel Wire Rope

In addition to the large range of Steel Wire Rope and Steel Wire Accessories, you will also find a number of maintenance products in our range. Maintenance is an important topic, it ensures a long life for the Steel Wire Rope and consists primarily of two elements, in addition to correct use, namely that the steel wire is kept clean and not exposed to dirt, grime, etc. and that it is properly lubricated. At Fyns Kran Udstyr we have developed a special wire oil which has exactly the right properties for the maintenance of all types of Steel Wire Rope. If your Steel Wire Rope has been exposed to dirt, we also have special tools for precisely cleaning and restoring. The tool runs on the outside of the Steel Wire Rope and is fed with the correct means to clean and relubricate with just the right level of lubricant - the tool thus presses dirt, grime and unwanted elements out of the Steel Wire rope's many cord parts that are often in a wire construction.

Correct maintenance increases safety and we therefore recommend that you regularly inspect the Steel Wire Rope. If the steel wire is not maintained, it can lead to dismissal at the statutory annual inspection.
