High quality eye bolts

High quality eye bolts are a must if you want to do your job efficiently and safely. Eye bolts are primarily used for lifting, transport and personal safety. At Fyns Kran Udstyr, we have Denmark's biggest stock range within lifting and lashing, because we want to deliver to all industries and types of lifting tasks. We only sell eye bolts of a high quality, which are certified and quality tested. Your company must be able to rely on the durability and strength of the eye bolts. It is both a question about safety for people and for the materials that have to be lifted.

Eye bolts for all purposes

Eye bolts and eye nuts are available in several different sizes and qualities, depending on what they are used for. There are very special bolts that serve as lifting devices for lifting extremely heavy loads, and there are bolts with other specific properties. Fyns Kran Udstyr has the expertise in the field, as together with the customers we have continuously developed lifting equipment for special purposes. When you need to find the right eye bolt, there are various conditions that you must be aware of. Among other things, you should consider the following: - How much weight must the eyebolt be able to bear? Your use of the lifting gear must comply with the maximum load and all safety measures. - Should the eye bolt be used in a place where it is exposed to moisture, sea mist, dirt and grime? Then it is important that you invest in a galvanized product that is hard-wearing and durable for use in all kinds of weather.

Find the product you need right here
Fyns Kran Udstyr has eye bolts made by many different manufacturers, qualities and weight classes. Use our product filter to narrow down your search so you can easily find the lifting equipment you need. You can, for example, search for:
- Product type, e.g. lifting strap, ring screw, swivel eye bolt, eye bolt or eye nut
- WLL (Working Load Limits). Fyns Kran Udstyr has eyebolts that can carry up to 45 tons.
- Bolt size, e.g. M6, M8 or M10 - Brands/manufacturer, e.g. Cromox, Fyns Kran Udstyr or Gunnebo.

Select the correct thread type and size

The thread on the eye bolt must match the hole or thread in the workpiece. There are two main types:

Metric thread (M6, M8, M10, M12, M16, M20, M24, M30, etc.)

  • Standard in Europe and Denmark
  • Indicated by “M” followed by the diameter in millimeters
  • Example: M12 = 12 mm diameter

UNC/UNF thread (inches)

  • Standard in the USA and UK
  • Indicated in inches (1/4“, 3/8”, 1/2“, 5/8”, 3/4“, 1”, etc.)
  • Often used on imported equipment

NEVER use an eye bolt if:

It has visible cracks, deformations, or corrosion. The WLL marking is illegible or missing. The thread is damaged. The eye is bent or deformed. It has been subjected to overload.

Frequently asked questions about eye bolts

Can I reuse an eye bolt from an old project?
Yes, if the eye bolt is in good condition, has been stored correctly, meets applicable requirements, and has been inspected in accordance with applicable regulations.

What is the difference between WLL and breaking strength?
WLL (Working Load Limit) is the maximum working load under normal conditions. Breaking strength is the force required to break the eye bolt and is typically 4-5 times higher than WLL. You must NEVER load an eye bolt up to its breaking strength.

Can I weld an eye bolt in place instead of screwing it in?
No, never! Welding changes the properties of the material and can create micro-cracks that drastically reduce strength. Always use eye bolts as designed - screwed in place with threads.

Should eye bolts be lubricated before installation?
No, unless the manufacturer's instructions specifically recommend it. Lubrication can cause over-tightening and hide thread damage. Install eye bolts in a dry, clean condition.

Inspection and maintenance of eye bolts

Before each use (visual inspection):

  • Check for visible damage, cracks, or deformations
  • Check that the WLL marking is legible
  • Check that the eye bolt is correctly installed

NOTE: Like other lifting equipment, eye bolts must be inspected and checked by a competent person at least every 12 months in accordance with the Danish Working Environment Authority's announcement no. 428. Read more about inspection of lifting equipment.
