Tyretrust A/S is a company that act as a service partner for car dealerships, garages, workshops etc. The primary business is picking up, bringing, storing, washing, balancing and preparing the customers' wheels. Tyretrust currently stores approx. 70,000 sets of wheels, and also handles between 90,000 and 100,000 individual wheels per year, which must be washed in one of the company's many washing facilities.

Tyretrust is gaining momentum
Tyretrust has 2 branches in Denmark, one in Horsens and one in Køge - the company in Køge has been at the address since 2018, and has been expanded several times since then. The company has now reached the maximum capacity of what is possible in the current building, but we at TyreTrust are far from finished developing and growing, says Operations Manager Alex Jørgensen.
En hjæpende hånd
Tyretrust håndterer dagligt rigtig mange hjul i anlægget, og det er en stor opgave at flytte rundt på så mange hjul hver dag.
Derfor skulle Tyretrust ud at finde en løsning til håndtering af de mange hjul, således at arbejdet kunne udføres lettere, hurtigere og sikrer medarbejderne et endnu bedre fysisk arbejdsmiljø.
Alex forklarer, “Det er klart, at vi med de mange håndteringer af hjul, allerede har nogle hjælpemidler til rådighed til løfte hjulene op og ind i vores maskiner, men fordi det med vores nuværende setup er meget tidkrævende, så ser vi desværre ofte, at medarbejderne vælger selv at foretage håndtering og løft af hjul uden brug af hjælpemidler.
Han fortsætter; “og det gør de simpelthen fordi, det er for tidskrævende; de vælger den lette og hurtige løsning”.
Tyretrust har tidligere haft bl.a. kranbaner med eltaljer til hjælp ift. håndtering, og der oplevede virksomheden det samme som nu – at det simpelthen var for tidkrævende, og medarbejderne valgte derfor ofte den lette og hurtige løsning, som var selv at håndtere og løfte hjul. “Løsningerne var egentlig gode nok til opgaven, men det tog alt for lang tid”, siger Alex.
Research and idea for the solution
Alex explains that they after a good idea from the employees, during a brainstorm, started looking for a more efficient solution, and here they looked for, among other things, on vacuum lifters which were the employee's idea, and here Fyns Kran Udstyr jumped forward with a wide selection.
"We were actually a little surprised that there weren't more qualified providers of vacuum solutions than Fyns Kran Udstyr," he says.
Tyretrust contacted Fyns Kran Udstyr and described the challenges, which quickly sent out one of its consultants to start a dialogue with Tyretrust about their wishes and needs for a new and more efficient solution.
Alex tells smiling; "Although wheels are not the most normal thing to lift with a vacuum lifter, with help we found a gripper that could handle the job safely, quickly and efficiently".
Demo solution
Before investing in such a facility, it is nice to be able to test it first, and Tyretrust of course also got this opportunity. Alex states; "The fact that we had the opportunity to borrow a demo solution so that we could test something that looked like our intended solution certainly helped to remove any doubts - and then we also knew that it was the right thing that we had chosen."
Alex continues; "What we can see with the new facility is that the lift / handling has become easier and more efficient. At the same time, we save time in relation to wheel washing – it was the right thing to invest in a vacuum handling solution", he says.
"What we want and hope with the new solution is that our employees spare themselves - and with a vacuum handling solution, it is no problem to carry out so many lifts in one day", he concludes.
