The company Confac in Randers has Fyns Kran Udstyr as a supplier of lifting gear and statutory inspections of lifting gear, and is happy to tell why response time, a high level of service and good prices are important elements when choosing a supplier.

The company Confac in Randers supplies building facades in many shades - from simple warehouses to advanced apartment buildings with unique design facades for both warehouses, commercial and apartment buildings throughout Denmark. Since its establishment in 2007, the company has had constant growth achieved through a focus on a unique production concept, a good product program and efficient and skilled employees. "I am relatively new to the job, and my predecessor already had a good collaboration with Fyns Kran Udstyr," says the Maintenance & Safety Manager; Mikkel Buhl, and continues; "I knew that the annual statutory inspection of our cranes and lifting gear took place in week 29 each year, and therefore one of the first things I did was to contact Fyns Kran Udstyr to tell them that I still wanted to maintain the service agreement this week 29 he says, and continues. "At the same time, I was given a service telephone number that I could call 24/7 if I needed assistance at any time of the day, and that is actually the most important thing for me, as response time is the absolute most important thing in our industry with concrete, because we can't stop the curing process, and when the crane stops at 3 a.m. in the morning, which Murphy's Law says it does, we have to have a technician out immediately. And the times we have needed it, a service technician has been here shortly afterwards. So the most important thing for us is undoubtedly response time. At the same time, all employees are informed about the procedure, so when one of my employees stands at 3 a.m. with a crane that is not running, they have no doubt as to who to get hold of. That is. that the person responsible for e.g. the night team simply takes hold of Fyns Kran Udstyr and solves the problem straight away, and they don't need to call on me – it's much faster and more efficient. After all, response time is crucial when it comes to concrete" - says the Maintenance & Safety Manager; Michael Buhl

High level of service for statutory inspections
Mikkel Buhl talks about the visit by the technicians and the annual inspection. "We had a really good experience in connection with the annual statutory inspection in week 29. Two service technicians from Fyns Kran Udstyr showed up at our place, and they took the dialogue if there were any questions or the like. There was, among other things, a problem with one of our cranes, which we worked together to create an action plan to solve - then I knew what to proceed with and how to make it all work optimally. So, in addition to the response time, the level of service is also a big part of the choice for us - because we are deeply dependent on our cranes and that they run all the time," explains Mikkel Buhl

Unique lifting products for efficient production
In addition to statutory service inspections, Confac also orders various products from Fyns Kran Udstyr. Mikkel Buhl says "In addition to service of the cranes, we have also ordered lifting beams several times - recently we ordered a lifting beams to be used under one of our gantry cranes, where I contacted our associated sales consultant, where we started the dialogue about needs and wishes for the new lifting beam, and we talked to the employees about what wishes they had for the functionality of the lifting beam, because they are the ones who use the lifting beam every day. Their input was passed on directly to the sales consultant and Fyns Kran Udstyr, and then it was developed and manufactured at Fyns Kran Udstyr's production unit in Aalborg. We started from a standard model from Fyns Kran Udstyr's program, and then we had it adapted to our wishes", says a satisfied Mikkel Buhl

Mikkel Buhl talks about the consumption of lifting gear in everyday life at Confac. "My employees are good at looking for the lifting gear that they use in everyday life; eg. round slings. We have an internal system whereby we get some boxes delivered with e.g. round slings, webbing slings etc. When the employees see that the lifting gear they are using is not safe to use anymore, they discard it and take new lifting gear from the various boxes themselves. In addition, we have a fixed set of rules that we only use single-use slings once. When we run out of some lifting gear from the boxes, I call our contact who is at Fyns Kran Udstyr's office in Aalborg, and then I order some more. In addition, I have a login to Fyns Kran Udstyr's webshop, and use it as a reference tool to see our prices on the various items. This makes it easy for me to keep Fyns Kran Udstyr's prices up to other suppliers' prices - because of course we at Confac regularly receive offers from other suppliers. With access to the webshop, prices and direct ordering, the whole process just becomes more transparent, and we can always see that we are buying the lifting gear at the right price.
