Individual fall protection kits provide safety across national borders
The assembly team has experienced that the rules are different in individual countries in relation to which fall protection equipment is supplied with a rented lift, and not all types of fall protection equipment supplied meet the high safety requirements that DS Stålkonstruktion has for their employees. This meant that there could often be an expensive delay in overseas work for the isntallation team before the right safety equipment was sourced. Therefore, the decision is now; "The installation team shows up at all locations with their own individual fall protection kits in order not to compromise with DS Stålkonstruktion's requirements for personal safety. It is easy for us to keep track of the system, where each man is responsible for his own set," says assembly manager Torben Larsen.
DS Stålkonstruktion has, in collaboration with Fyns Kran Udstyr, has put together 3 different types of fall protection kits, which each employee receives in a FKU sports bag to keep track of everything. The different kits are composed according to their work jobs, and this gives the employees the opportunity to choose exactly the equipment that suits their needs and wishes "and we are sure that the employees will use it, as it meets the needs they have". "And now we don't experience any delays in the work either, because we don't have the right safety equipment for the tasks, and we don't have problems with forgotten equipment on the sites, because each man has 100% control of his own equipment." says Torben Larsen.
