It's not every day you have to move a 150-year-old barn. But Nordic Crane, under the leadership of department manager and co-owner of Nordic Crane, Mikkel Eriksen, has done that in Mørkøv, Denmark.

A unique job with a good view
The barn must be moved as it blocks a beautiful view of the surrounding fields. Therefore, a new foundation has been poured nearby, and the barn has been prepared for the lift with iron beams inside. The barn must be lifted in 3 parts and Fyns Kran Udstyrs 40T adjustable spreader and 2 x 10T ajustable spreaders underneath are used for the lift. A 450T mobile crane was used for the lift, which had to be driven onto a field of 250m of driving plates.
Lifting gear and the annual statutory inspections
Mikkel Eriksen has been in the crane business for 13 years, and together with his brother Morten Eriksen and their friend Casper Pedersen started Krankompagniet. In 2022, they sold 70% of the company to Nordic Crane, which together with Krankompagniet is now is one of the leaders in the Nordics with over 350 crane units.
Nordic Crane and Fyns Kran Udstyr have collaborated for 8 years - both on lifting gear and the annual statutory inspections. As Mikkel Eriksen says: "It's great that you call when it's time for an inspection, because then we can get it planned."
