A package solution consisting of hoisting wire and wire straps – individually labeled and assembled as a finished set, contributes to a streamlined production process at Seasight Davits in Hvide Sande.
Seasight Davits, which is a collaboration between Seasight Steel and Jimmy Staal Damsgaard from Odense, specializes in the production of davit cranes for offshore wind turbines.
Great demands are placed on this type of crane, both when it comes to the characteristics of the crane itself, operation and ongoing maintenance as well as its durability in a harsh environment. At the same time, there is maximum focus on keeping the costs and thus the price of the finished crane down to a competitive level.
We are constantly working to optimize our production methods, so that the number of man-hours per crane can be minimized, says Thomas Halkjær Kristensen, Technical Manager at Seasight Steel.
One of the measures is what we call a kit box. That is we have boxes with different numbers that fit each different crane. Each box thus contains the individual parts that must be mounted on the crane in question. This means that we always have control over which parts are installed and which are missing, continues Thomas.

It was precisely in connection with the kit boxes that Fyns Kran Udstyr came into play as a supplier for Seasight Davits. We needed a supplier of a solution consisting of rotation-free steel wire rope, a wire sling and a holding wire - all parts had to be individually labeled and delivered as a package. Here we quickly found out that Fyns Kran Udstyr, with their own rigging workshop, were the most competent for the task, and at the same time the price was as it should be, says Thomas.

We get a set delivered from Fyns Kran Udstyr per crane - ready to go in the kit box and that saves us a lot of time and ensures that we always have the right steel wire rope parts for the individual cranes.
We are very satisfied with our collaboration with Fyns Kran Udstyr, the goods are as they should be - and it is clear that we are working on the basis of a long-term collaboration and not just a one-off sale. This means mutual trust - and that is something we attach great importance to here in West Jutland, concludes Thomas.
