Even though you have more than 100 years of proud history, you must not forget the working environment. ZF Denmark is an example of this.
ZF Denmark is a Danish subsidiary of the global group ZF. The Danish branch, with its two departments in Taastrup and Aalborg, has 29 employees, and both of these departments use crane solutions from Fyns Kran Udstyr A/S.
Good quality that never fails.
Gearboxes from ZF are known for their durability, often surpassing the connected engines. ZF Denmark can refurbish and service transmissions of its own make just as they repair other brands. In addition, ZF Danmark supports companies in Scandinavia and Iceland with parts for the gearboxes.
Efficient work process and better working environment
Fyns Kran Udstyr A/S, in collaboration with ZF Denmark, has created an optimized workshop environment with six versatile workstations, as the workshop handles many different products that vary greatly in weight and shape.
The challenge was that the capacity of the five previous workstations was not used effectively. ZF Denmark previously had three jib cranes, which could not cover the entire work area. At the same time, some of the cranes with a WLL of up to 1600 kg could be very impractical when the gearboxes were disassembled. In addition, there was a challenge with range – there were therefore only two workstations that were usable when working on the very heavy projects.
The problem was solved with an integration of the existing column jib cranes as well as two new Erikkila jib cranes with a WLL of 500 kg. And it's all combined with a large overhead crane with a WLL of 2 tonnes that covers the entire working area. The heavy gearboxes can therefore be easily placed at the individual workstations, where they can then be dismantled and easily handled with the individual jib crane at the workstation itself.
In this way, ZF Denmark achieves an optimal and easily manageable work process. With range from the large overhead crane, all workstations can handle the large gearboxes, where before there were only two stations that could handle the task. In addition, the capacity has been increased with an additional station, where one of the existing cranes is used for gearboxes that always weigh more than 1000 kg when assembled.
Gearboxes for almost everything between heaven and earth
ZF was founded by Ferdinand von Zeppelin in Friedrichshafen, Germany, where the company still has its headquarters.
A very remarkable invention is the basis for the company's rise - the idea arose when it was necessary to create propulsion for the Zeppelin airships, thereby creating the need for different gears. Ferdinand von Zeppelin therefore founded his very own gear factory, which over time has grown into a global foundation-owned group with over 134,000 employees and a turnover of more than 230 billion Danish kroner.
Although the production of gears for airships has stopped, ZF still produces gears for aviation. At the same time, the range has been expanded to include transmissions for passenger cars, trucks, tractors, military vehicles, trains and products related to the wind, industrial and marine sectors. In addition, with the acquisition of American TRW with as many as 66,000 employees, the company can supply everything from a complete passenger car undercarriage to belt tensioners and airbags.
